Martin Luther King jr. was born on January 15, 1929. He was assassinated to death on April 4, 1968. Martin was a Baptist Minister, Activist, and a leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. King became a civil rights activists early in his career. His spouse was Coretta Scott King. He had six children, Martin Luther King III, Yolanda King, Bernice King, and Dexter Scott King. He had attended Atlanta schools. His original name is Michael Luther King Jr.. He was one of the most important black leaders of his era. His mom was a school teacher. He had a sister Christine and a brother Daniel. When he was 11 a women struck him and called him a "nigger."He lost two white friends because of his parents. he went to collage at 15 years old. He was 18 and was ordained in his fathers church.
